Intro - Amateur Tech Advice from a Semiprofessional Geek

Hi everyone. This blog will be about sharing some of the things I've learned over the years from spending much too much time with computers. I am not a professional tech support guy of any sort, I've never taken computer science classes and I don't know a thing about Apple products. However, I did build my own desktop from scratch last month and I have set up or fixed up dozens of PC's over the years. I also read a fair amount of geeky websites. So if you want some free suggestions and are cool with getting what you pay for, this is the place.

My first several posts will be about protecting your Facebook account. Those honky mufahs are getting hijacked left-and-right now, but there are a few things (which FB should make mandatory) you can do which should protect you. Then I will move on to Gmail security. After that I will start promoting cool software programs that are available for free on the internet that I think are useful.

I am not selling anything nor am I sponsored by anyone. If you think my advice is helpful then you're welcome to feed me or buy me a beer. If you have tech questions you're welcome to ask them in comments or by email (if you're a friend, I'm not posting my email here) and I'll see what I can do to help.
